Gather facts before assuming.
In daily life, rushing to conclusions without sufficient facts often leads to misunderstandings and conflicts, sometimes escalating to unnecessary tensions in personal relationships or even broader disputes. My personal experience has taught me the value of pausing to verify information before reacting. For instance, within community discussions or social situations, assuming someone’s intentions without clear evidence sometimes caused needless hurt or disagreement. This principle also applies widely to global issues, where assumptions can lead to unnecessary wars or conflicts, as the OCR content suggests with the phrase “to unnecessary war.” When we take time to gather accurate facts, seek multiple perspectives, and communicate openly, we reduce the risk of false judgments that might inflame tensions. Being a Christian, I find that this wisdom aligns well with biblical teachings about seeking understanding and practicing patience and love. It encourages us to avoid quick judgments and instead respond thoughtfully, fostering peace and reconciliation. Developing the habit of verifying facts before assuming not only improves our decision-making but also helps build trust and harmony in all aspects of life.
