Hey everyone! I'm so excited to share more about how I make my Bible journaling pages come alive with super easy and cute doodles. You don't need to be an amazing artist, seriously! My goal is always to connect deeper with the scripture, and adding little drawings really helps me visualize and remember what I'm reading. For example, that page with the sea creatures and plants illustrating Psalm 104:24-25 about God's amazing works? It's one of my favorites! To create simple sea creatures, I often start with basic shapes. For a fish, an oval with a triangle tail is perfect. Add a small circle for an eye and a few wavy lines for scales. For plants, think about simple leaves, vines, or flowers drawn with just a few strokes. You can draw a simple stem with a few almond-shaped leaves or a basic daisy with a circle center and petals around it. Don't overthink it! The beauty is in the simplicity and personal touch. Beyond sea creatures and plants, there are so many other easy bible doodles you can try! Nature elements: Think clouds, stars, sun, moon, mountains, trees, or rain drops. These are fantastic for Psalms or creation stories. Everyday objects: A simple heart, a lightbulb for an idea, a key for understanding, a crown for royalty (Jesus!), or a small cross are all quick to draw and meaningful. Lettering accents: Sometimes just adding a cute banner around a word or using a different font style for a key verse counts as a doodle! Abstract shapes: Swirls, dots, or patterned borders can add a lot of visual interest without requiring drawing skills. My top tips for anyone starting out with easy bible doodles: Start simple: Don't try to draw a masterpiece. Stick to outlines and basic shapes. Use pencil first: Lightly sketch your ideas before committing with a pen. Don't be afraid of imperfections: Your doodles are unique to you and your journey. There's no right or wrong! Practice on scrap paper: Before diving into your Bible, try out a few designs on a separate sheet. Focus on the meaning: Let the scripture inspire your doodles rather than just drawing for drawing's sake. What image comes to mind when you read a particular verse? I mainly use fine-liner pens and sometimes colored pencils or watercolor pencils if I want a pop of color without bleeding through the thin Bible pages. Just make sure to test them on a blank page in the back of your Bible first! Adding these little touches has truly transformed my quiet time, making it more interactive and memorable.
