My fashion showcase <3

I love anything fashion wise, so it was really cool to be apart of my school’s fashion show. I had so much fun with everybody. The first category was Met Gala, I wanted to do something a little different, the dress is from target, along with the choker & flowers I added onto, the jewelry is from shein and the shoes are thrifted from my local thrift store. The second category and my favorite outfit was night on the town. The cap, gold belt and jelwery are from shein, and literally everything besides the shoes were thrifted. The cheetah “shirt” is actually a skirt. The boots were from tj maxx. And last category which was my favorite category; is beautiful you (aka) your own style. I did play it a little safe, I really wanted to go bigger but still happy with the outcome. I really enjoyed doing this and meeting the other contestants, I went up against the baddest of the bads! I would definitely love to do this again <3 #Lemon8Diary #fashionfinds #fashioninspo #wlw #thriftedoutfits

... Read moreWow, participating in a school fashion show like the 'Mr. & Mrs. Put it On' event sounds absolutely incredible! I’ve always dreamed of showcasing my style, and your experience really inspires me. For anyone thinking about joining their own school fashion show, let me share some extra tips and insights that I’ve picked up, especially when it comes to making your looks pop without breaking the bank. First off, tackling a theme like 'Met Gala' on a student budget is a true art form. You mentioned your dress was from Target, which is brilliant! It just goes to show you don't need designer labels to create a show-stopping outfit. When I'm thinking 'Met Gala,' I look for pieces with interesting textures, dramatic silhouettes, or unique embellishments. Thrift stores are goldmines for this – you can find vintage dresses, intricate scarves, or even old jewelry that can be repurposed. Adding a statement choker, like you did, or crafting some DIY floral accents can elevate a simple black dress into something truly red-carpet worthy. Don't forget that little details, like how you layer your jewelry from places like Shein, can make a huge difference in achieving that high-fashion vibe. Think about the overall story your outfit tells, rather than just the individual pieces. Then there’s the 'Night on the Town' category – this is where you can really let your personality shine! Your idea of using a cheetah skirt as a 'shirt' is genius and perfectly exemplifies creative styling. For this theme, I always suggest looking for versatile pieces. A great black jacket, a chic denim skirt, or even a bold top can be the foundation. The key is to mix and match. Those thrifted boots or a killer pair from TJ Maxx can totally transform an outfit. And don't underestimate the power of accessories: a statement belt, a cool cap, or some chunky jewelry can tie everything together and add that extra spark. Remember, it’s not just about the clothes; it’s about how you wear them with confidence! Finally, the 'Beautiful You' category, or simply showcasing your own style, is perhaps the most fun because it's genuinely *you*. While it might feel safer to stick to what you know, this is actually an amazing opportunity to push your boundaries slightly within your comfort zone. If you usually wear casual wear, try elevating it with one standout accessory or a slightly more tailored piece. Your unique blend of thrifted finds and new pieces is what makes your style authentic. For this category, I'd encourage everyone to think about what makes them feel truly confident and beautiful. Is it a particular color? A specific silhouette? Or perhaps a beloved vintage item that has a story? Participating in a fashion show, especially one with themed categories like 'Mr. & Mrs. Put it On' or 'Met Gala,' is an incredible learning experience. It hones your styling skills, boosts your confidence, and allows you to connect with other fashion enthusiasts. Seeing you wear that black dress with a number 4 bib and rocking the runway is truly inspiring! Keep experimenting, keep thrifting, and keep sharing your amazing fashion journey. You've clearly got an eye for creating unique and memorable looks!
