how i’ve grown since freshman year
this was me freshman year of college, right before christmas break. i was struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, and a lot of other things. i hadn’t eaten in days. i lost an unhealthy amount of weight. my new boyfriend who i had only been with a couple of days couldn’t even get me to eat. my friend group couldn’t even get me to eat. i couldn’t even look at food. the worst part was that i finally thought i was beautiful. i thought being skin and bones was beautiful because of my body image issues. i was struggling and hid it, even from my therapist. i eventually gained some of the weight back that summer. i wasn’t happy about it. i told my boyfriend i thought i was fat. he had to sit there and convince me i wasn’t. i still have body image issues to this day. i’m slowly starting to get over them day by day. it’s not easy. i have lots of support and i made some life changing decisions between then and now. i left the school and have been eating three meals a day and working at a job i love. these changes haven’t been easy but with my support system i feel like there’s nothing i can’t do. #embracevulnerability #lemon8challenge
