Modern Dating Feels Like Death by a Thousand Cuts
I swear, modern dating is exhausting. You can be level-headed, kind, moderately attractive, and still get overlooked. The highs of initial attention are quickly followed by the lows of disinterest, ghosting, or mind games. It really takes a toll on your self-esteem and mental health. Sometimes it feels like you need to be perfect in every way just to even have a shot—looks, personality, finances, the whole package. I just want genuine connection, not games, and yet here we are. Does anyone else feel like dating today is more about surviving a minefield than actually finding love?

You have just very clearly defined my dating world. My friends keep telling me it’s not me, it’s just the guys I’m meeting. But it drains my self esteem for sure. The ghosting is ridiculous, just say “No thanks” at the very least please, be an adult and communicate! Ugh! I’m trying to stay positive but it’s hard. I would just really like to meet a nice guy!
