Certified dementia practitioner

I’m excited to share that I am pursuing my Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) credential as part of my continued commitment to serving seniors and families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.

Education is one of the most powerful tools we have in providing compassionate, knowledgeable care. The more I learn, the better I can advocate for and support those who trust Divinity Care with their loved ones.

Always growing. Always learning. Always serving. 💙

... Read moreAs someone deeply passionate about providing excellent care for those affected by dementia and Alzheimer's disease, I chose to pursue the Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) credential to deepen my understanding and improve my caregiving skills. This credential not only enriches my knowledge of memory support and behavior management but also enhances my ability to educate and support caregivers and families. Continuing education is essential because dementia care involves continuous learning about new research, care approaches, and communication techniques that honor each person's dignity and unique needs. I have found that applying what I learn about behavior management helps reduce frustration and improves daily interactions with those living with dementia. Supporting families is equally important—many caregivers face emotional and physical challenges. The training empowers me to offer guidance, resources, and compassionate companionship tailored to each individual's journey, improving overall quality of life. Furthermore, practical aspects like medication reminders, transportation assistance, and personal care are integrated with empathy and patience, creating a supportive environment for seniors. Pursuing the CDP credential solidifies my commitment to growing as a caregiver, advocating for person-centered care, and ensuring that every person feels respected and valued throughout their dementia journey. In my experience, combining professional education with heartfelt compassion transforms care delivery, making a meaningful difference for both individuals with dementia and their loved ones.
