For all my July babies… this one’s for you ❤️♋💅

I’ve been obsessed with the viral ring nail trend lately,

so I decided to try it out with a chunky ruby twist

to match the July birthstone 🔥💎

Yes girl, I made this whole thing at home 😭

Built the ring band using sculpting nail glue

right on my Gel X set and went in with

the biggest red rhinestones I could find 🔩✨

Then I filled in the gaps with gold pearls

and added tiny gold beads to make it look

like the gems were actually soldered in 🔥

Tell me this doesn’t look like real nail jewelry 😭

If you love DIY nails at home,

need easy nail inspo, or

just want to be extra on your birthday,

this set is calling your name 🫶💅

It’s giving nail charm,

red nail theory,

and rich birthday energy 💋👑

... Read moreHey nail fam! So glad you loved my DIY ruby ring nails. Creating that 'chunky ruby gem ring' look at home was such a fun challenge, and I wanted to share a few more tips if you're diving into the world of 3D nail art, especially with Gel X! First off, getting those larger gems or rhinestones to stay put is key. When I built the ring band using sculpting nail glue on my Gel X set, I found that patience is your best friend. Don't rush curing! After applying your Gel X tips, make sure they are fully cured and prepped. For the sculpting glue, apply a small bead where you want your "ring" or "chunky gem" to sit. Gently press your rhinestone or charm into it. Sometimes, using a bit of builder gel or a thicker clear gel around the base of the gem, almost encapsulating the bottom edges, can provide extra security. Cure each layer thoroughly! This technique really helps the "chunky ruby gem ring" feel professionally attached and not just glued on. For those gold pearls and tiny beads that make it look soldered, precision is everything. A dotting tool or even a fine-tipped brush can help you place those tiny elements exactly where you want them. After placing them, use a thin layer of top coat (or even a clear builder gel for more durability) to seal them in. This not only adds to the illusion of craftsmanship but also protects your design from snagging. A small amount of non-wipe top coat around the edges, cured properly, can also help prevent snagging on clothes or hair. Thinking about other birthstone-inspired nail art? The possibilities are endless! For August, you could do stunning Peridot green gems, perhaps a chunky emerald cut. September calls for sapphire blue, which would look incredible with silver accents. If you're a spring baby, April's diamond-inspired clear gems or May's emeralds would be gorgeous. The core idea is to pick your birthstone color, find matching rhinestones or even create a gem effect with gel polish and clear builder gel, then build your 'ring' or 'charm' around it. It’s all about creating that striking focal point on your nail. To really elevate your 'Gel X Nail Inspo' game with these 3D elements, consider the overall balance of your design. If you're going for a prominent 'chunky ruby gem ring' on one finger, perhaps keep the other nails a bit simpler, allowing that statement piece to truly shine. Or, if you prefer a cohesive look, you could incorporate smaller, coordinating gems or metallic accents on the other nails. Another pro tip for longevity: be mindful of how you use your hands. While properly secured, 3D elements can still be delicate. Gentle care will ensure your beautiful gem nails last as long as your Gel X set. This whole process just adds so much to your Nail Inspo library, right? It shows how versatile Gel X can be beyond simple extensions. You can truly transform your nails into wearable art. Remember, practice makes perfect, and don't be afraid to experiment with different sizes and shapes of rhinestones. You might discover your next signature 'chunky ruby gem ring' style or another unique birthstone masterpiece. Happy DIY-ing!
