Looking back at difficult times in our lives, it's common to realize how much we have grown and changed. Sometimes, people from our past don’t fully understand the person we've become, and that can lead to feelings of frustration or estrangement. I’ve personally experienced moments when my focus on personal goals made me seem distant or uninterested to others around me. For example, dedicating myself to a craft or passion often requires intense concentration, which can unintentionally cause disconnects with friends who expect constant availability and frivolous fun. One of the hardest parts is dealing with outdated perceptions others hold—being labeled or misunderstood based on who you were years ago can feel suffocating. It’s like being stuck in a loop of nostalgia, where people long for an earlier version of you instead of accepting your present self. I learned not to take this personally, understanding that nostalgia can cloud judgment and that it’s okay to move on from the past. Communication is key in navigating these changes.
