So far, this book is HEAVY. From painful study techniques, mentions of drug use, school fighting, bullying, and genocide. I’ve needed to read some lighter things to balance out this book. Another way that makes this book a little harder for me to is the longer chapters. It’s different from what I’m used to reading, and I’ve been enjoying the change of pace.
With that being said, this book is incredibly well written. I’m really excited to find out what happens. I’m excited to find out what happens with Rin. To learn more about Lore. To see if war does break out. Does Kitay continue to be a good friend and if he stays safe. Does Rin have to do anything else to remain in school. She’s already done so much and went to drastic measures.
I’m expecting this to be a five star book, but there’s still a lot to get through.
