Honestly, it was hard rooting for Snow’s success after knowing just how corrupted he becomes. However, there’s an argument to be made that if you read this book from a nature vs nurture perspective, it also makes sense how Snow became the person we see in The Hunger Games.
It also gives us some insight to his cousin Tigris, who I just wanted all the good things for. She works hard for her family, makes really large personal sacrifices, and was still kind despite losing her family in the war.
If you want more background information for The Hunger Games, then this offers that. If you like dystopian stories or villain origin stories, then this might be a good book for you.
