Holocaust Non-Fiction

⭐️Overall rating: 3/5

📖Synopsis: This story uses primary sources such as journals, talking to people who were there, and interviews. The Zookeeper’s Wife shares a tale of a family who owned a zoo when Poland was still independent, the start of nazi occupation, to

the ending of the war where Russia was in control of Warsaw, then ending with the modern day.

👍Pros: A lot of information was covered in a medium sized book (in the 368 pages). The people in this book were portrayed in a relatable light, like wanting to protect friends and family, discussing depression and anxiety, and making hard choices in order to survive.

👎Cons: The writing style took some time to get used to - lots of jumping to the present for context and then back to the past. Sometimes it was hard to know where I was.
