I can’t say I’ve seen an honest review on either of these scents, so I wanted to add my two cents.
Toasted Marshmallow 🏕️
I’m not going to lie, I was SO disappointed in this scent. I am a big gourmand girl, so a marshmallow scent usually hates to see me coming. However, this smells like a marshmallow that has been caught on fire (and not in a good way). Perhaps it’s the birch, but I couldn’t do it. If you like a burnt/smokey scent though, this might be for you.
Notes: Toasted marshmallow, caramelized sugar, and smoky birch
Beach Waves 🏝️
I don’t know what I was expecting with this one, but it’s not for me. It’s fine - very pineapple forward, but a floral dry down. I get a lot more coconut in the bottle than I actually do on the skin, which is a shame because I LOVE coconut. If you like Coco Shimmy by Sniff, this gives her older, more mature sister.
Notes: Pineapple punch, tiare flower, and salted coconut

From my personal experience, lotions that contain smoky or burnt notes, like the toasted marshmallow with birch, can be polarizing—they may come off as too intense or harsh unless you specifically enjoy warm, woodsy aromas.
On the other hand, tropical-inspired fragrances such as Beach Waves often aim to evoke a carefree, beachy vibe with pineapple and coconut but can sometimes fall short if the balance of notes leans too floral or if the coconut is more pronounced in the bottle than on the skin. This variation might happen due to how your body heat releases different layers of the fragrance throughout the day.
It’s also worth pointing out that the moisturizing quality of lotions matters as much as the scent. EOS products often include a rich blend of nourishing oils and butters which help with dry skin, so even if the fragrance isn’t your favorite, the lotion’s soothing and hydrating effects might still make it a worthwhile addition to your routine. In my experience, using such lotions regularly can significantly improve skin softness and comfort, especially in changing weather conditions.
Moreover, if you enjoy aromatic profiles with a burnt or smoky edge, similar to the toasted marshmallow scent, try layering with complementary products like matching body sprays or perfumes to enhance the overall effect. For fans of tropical fruity scents, pairing Beach Waves with coconut-based hair or body products may help amplify those coveted beachy notes.
Ultimately, the key is sampling these scents in-store or grabbing smaller sizes first to ensure they align with your preferences. Everyone’s scent journey is unique, so honest reviews combined with personal trials provide the best roadmap to finding your perfect summer fragrance.
