Hair Oil Mixer Ideas
These are some ideas of how you can mix oils to keep your hair sealed with moisture so it doesn’t try out and become damaged..because breakage do be real.
For me i personally mix 6 oils together: castor oil, jojoba oil, coconut oil, tea tree oil, biotin oil and grape seed oil. Sometimes I’ll probably add in olive oil instead of jojoba oil it’s just a preference thing.
Mix what you feel will work better for your hair! This works for mine I’m usually consistent with it like everyday or every other day type thing.
For the hot oil treatment it goes for the same thing. I usually do this after every hairstyle maybe every 3-4 weeks just so I can keep my hair moisturized and so it doesn’t have a lot of breakage after a hairstyle.
It’s truly amazing how a personalized hair oil mix can transform your strands! After years of trying different products, I discovered the power of DIY blends, and now I can't imagine my hair care routine without them. You know how frustrating it is when your hair feels dry and brittle, no matter what you do? That's where a custom oil mix comes in. Let's talk about some of my absolute favorite oils and why they're hair game-changers. Beyond the castor oil and coconut oil I mentioned, which are fantastic for strengthening and promoting growth, I've experimented with so many others. For instance, jojoba oil is incredible because its structure is very similar to our hair's natural sebum, making it a brilliant moisturizer that doesn't weigh hair down. I often incorporate olive oil for its deep conditioning properties, especially if my hair feels extra parched – it’s a staple for adding shine and softness. If you're looking to boost scalp health, tea tree oil and a tiny drop of peppermint oil can be invigorating, helping to stimulate circulation and combat dryness or itchiness. Just remember, essential oils like these are potent, so always dilute them properly with a carrier oil! For those seeking extra nourishment, almond oil and avocado oil are packed with vitamins, leaving your hair feeling softer and more manageable. I've also found that adding a touch of Vitamin E oil can be great for overall hair health and shine. And don't forget sweet almond oil and even carrot oil for their strengthening benefits! When it comes to mixing, don't overthink it! I usually grab a small bowl and start with my main carrier oils like castor, coconut, or olive. Then, I add smaller amounts of my secondary oils. For a targeted growth boost, I might lean more heavily on castor and add a few drops of tea tree. If it's pure moisture I'm after, more coconut, jojoba, or avocado oil goes into the mix. There's no one-size-fits-all, so listen to what your hair needs. And for a truly luxurious treat, those hot oil treatments I mentioned? They are a game-changer! I gently warm my chosen oil blend (never boil!) in a bowl of hot water. Once it's a comfortable temperature, I apply it generously from roots to ends, focusing on my scalp. Then, I cover my hair with a shower cap and let it sit for at least 30 minutes, sometimes even an hour, before shampooing. It's like a deep conditioning spa day for your hair, leaving it incredibly soft, moisturized, and noticeably less prone to breakage. I try to do this every 2-3 weeks, especially after removing a protective style. It makes a huge difference in maintaining my hair's health and preventing damage. Experiment with different combinations, and you'll soon discover your perfect blend for luscious, healthy locks!
