Aquarium plant
I have peace lily’s and just recently added java moss.
FYI yes, I have two female bettas in this tank. I also have four Rasboras that are soon to go into my 40 gallon tank with my guppies.
The ideal plants I’m looking for is something that grows quick and lush for my fish to hind in.
So if anyone has suggestions please let me know. Thank you! Also if there’s something I’m missing for my bettas I’m always up for constructive criticism.
When selecting aquarium plants to create a vibrant and safe environment for your bettas and community fish, it is essential to focus on species that grow fast and provide ample coverage for hiding and exploring. Plants like Java Moss and Peace Lily are great choices, as they are hardy, grow quickly, and offer excellent shelter for shy fish such as bettas. In addition to these, consider adding fast-growing stem plants like Hornwort (Ceratophyllum demersum), Water Wisteria (Hygrophila difformis), and Anacharis (Elodea densa). These plants thrive in various water conditions, absorb excess nutrients, helping to maintain water quality, and create lush greenery that enables fish to feel secure. Floating plants, such as Duckweed and Frogbit, can also be beneficial by diffusing light and providing shaded areas which calm bettas and reduce stress. Moreover, a well-planted tank not only improves the aesthetic appeal but also enhances oxygenation and reduces algae growth. Since you have female bettas and Rasboras, it is crucial to ensure the aquarium plants have broad leaves or dense foliage to prevent aggression and allow bettas to establish territories. Avoid sharp-leaved plants which might injure delicate fins. Additionally, supplementing your tank environment with aquatic-safe fertilizers and root tabs can encourage robust plant growth. Monitoring CO2 levels and lighting duration will also help maintain healthy aquatic vegetation. Finally, always research compatibility and growth needs of plants to match your specific tank conditions like size, lighting, and water parameters. Constructive feedback from experienced aquarists and online aquarium plant forums can provide valuable insights to optimize your habitat.

Guppy grass and hornwort. I let them float and they grow so fast in my betta tanks.
