🔥Diluc🔥
It’s hard to believe I had these photos taken around three years ago. This was my first ever set of business cards.

When I first decided to cosplay Diluc, one of the biggest challenges was accurately capturing his distinct features, especially his iconic 'Diluc face' that Genshin Impact players know so well. It's not just about wearing the costume; it's about embodying the character's essence, and so much of that comes down to the face model and how it's portrayed in-game. For recreating the 'Diluc face' specifically, makeup became my secret weapon. Since Diluc has quite a masculine and sharp facial structure in the game, I focused heavily on contouring techniques. This meant using darker shades to define the jawline and cheekbones, creating that strong, chiseled look. His eyes also hold a lot of intensity, so I used subtle eyeliner and eyeshadow to enhance their shape without making it look overly dramatic – the goal was to mimic the depth and seriousness you see in his in-game model. And of course, we can't talk about Diluc without mentioning his striking red hair! Getting the wig just right was crucial. It wasn't just about the color, but the volume and the way it frames his face. I spent hours styling it to match the dynamic flow of his hair as seen in the game, making sure it looked natural yet impactful, just like his presence in Teyvat. Beyond the face, bringing the 'Diluc in game' aesthetic to life involved paying close attention to costume details. The dark purple shirt and black vest, for instance, are more than just clothes; they define his silhouette and contribute to his stoic demeanor. I carefully selected fabrics that would hang correctly and spent time on tailoring to ensure the fit was spot on, making sure it mirrored the textures and proportions of his actual character model. Posing was another key element. When you're trying to replicate an 'in-game' character, every stance, every hand gesture matters. I studied screenshots and gameplay footage to understand Diluc's common poses. That extended hand, often surrounded by a fiery effect in the game, was something I really wanted to convey. For photos, we experimented with lighting and sometimes even subtle smoke effects to hint at his Pyro abilities, creating that dynamic atmosphere you'd experience while playing. The background also played a role in capturing that 'in-game' feel. Finding a location that resembled a 'rocky indoor background' or a similar environment from Mondstadt helped immerse the cosplay in the world of Genshin Impact. It’s those little environmental cues that truly transport viewers and help them connect your real-life portrayal to the digital character they love. My biggest piece of advice for anyone looking to cosplay Diluc, or any character where the 'face model' is so critical, is to study your reference images religiously. Look at them from every angle. How does the light hit their face? What expressions do they commonly make? How does their outfit move? These details, often overlooked, are what elevate a good cosplay to a great one, making your portrayal truly feel like the character stepped right out of the game. It's a process of trial and error, but seeing the vision come together, especially when you feel you've truly captured the essence of the 'Diluc face model,' is incredibly rewarding. It's a way to celebrate a character you love and share that passion with the wider gaming community.
