🚬Sumtin’ To Take The Edge Off: Ops Analyst Style
We all have those days where we be stressed to the max. I feel like work makes it incredibly more stressed than it already is.
So like this little trend I’ve been seeing on the clock app says; these are the little things I do to take the edge off of the stress that I deal with at work.
☕️ Coffee!
-Particularly Ice Coffee. I can’t do the dark and bitter stuff. Thoes that do y’all are strong. But nothing beats a nice cold cup of adrenaline to put my thoughts into overdrive.
🎶 Music
-It nothing but a thing for me to throw in my headphones and blast into another dimension of my personal music videos in my head. The best thing is my headphones are the same color as me so nobody knows that I’m secretly having a jam session.
👾 Games
-I love me a mobile game lol. I have about ten on my phone and heavily rotate about five daily or hourly. It ’s just something to pass the time and also get my mind off of whatever was just bothering me.
🧼 Cleaning
-If I’m really upset I go into a rage cleaning. Idk why but it’s soothing and relaxing. Probably another reason why my desk be so empty lol.

Stress at work can often feel overwhelming, especially in demanding roles like operations analysis where precision and focus are critical. Finding effective ways to decompress can significantly improve productivity and mental clarity. One highly popular method is incorporating coffee breaks, particularly iced coffee, which provides a refreshing boost without the bitterness that some find off-putting. The caffeine increases alertness and helps stimulate cognitive function, which is vital during high-pressure tasks. Music acts as a powerful mood regulator. Listening to favorite tunes or creating imaginary 'personal music videos' in your head can transport you away from stress factors temporarily. Using headphones of a color that blends in can help maintain privacy and allow one to enjoy uninterrupted audio therapy. Engaging in mobile gaming has become a favored distraction technique for many professionals. Rotating through a selection of games helps break monotony, distract from stressors, and offers a cognitive break which can recharge concentration levels. Interestingly, some find solace in cleaning, or 'rage cleaning,' which combines physical activity with a calming purpose. It helps expend nervous energy and creates an organized environment that promotes psychological calm. Incorporating these small but impactful activities into daily routines supports emotional resilience and reduces burnout risks. Additionally, practices like mindful breathing exercises, brief walks, or progressive muscle relaxation can complement these strategies. By adopting a personalized combination of stress-relief techniques such as iced coffee consumption, immersive music listening, engaging gameplay, and cleaning rituals, operations analysts and other professionals can effectively manage workplace stress and enhance overall wellbeing.
