Are Interviews Best In Person Or Virtual 💻
Well I had my interview 🥳 but that’s for another day to talk about. But as you can see from my images this was done at home. And I strongly prefer my interviews at home but wanted to see what others think too.
I have a few reasons why I prefer virtual interviews instead of in person ones.
- Judgmental
I shouldn’t get hired based off my looks but my work ethic. So if the interviewer feels a type of way on what I’m wearing or how I may style my hair then of course that job isn’t for me. Although folks are missing out on great workers that do so.
- Stress
I get real nervous when speaking with people I don’t know. So instead of sweating out at work I can do that right at home and quickly change shirts afterwards.
- Privacy
You never know who is plotting on your downfall! So it’s always best to keep private about moving up. No matter who you think you’re💵 Price: cool with get the job first before you tell. Plus some people will purposely cause issues if they see you interviewing.
- Comfort
Being home calms my nerves some. I can do crazy rituals or talk to myself lol. Or dress business up top and none of your business at the bottom. Being comfortable boosts my confidence.
So with that being said doesn’t having an interview virtually or over the phone sound waaaay better than in person?

Many people find virtual interviews to be more convenient and less stressful compared to traditional in-person interviews. When interviewing from home, candidates have control over their environment which can help reduce the anxiety that often comes with meeting new people face-to-face. Comfort plays a significant role; being in a familiar setting allows you to prepare in your own way, whether it’s dressing business on top and casual below or practicing calming rituals beforehand. Another important aspect experienced by many candidates is the reduction of judgment based on appearance. Virtual interviews help focus on skills and qualifications rather than external factors like clothing style or grooming, reducing unconscious bias that might occur during in-person encounters. This creates a fairer playing field for all applicants. Privacy is also a key advantage. Conducting interviews at home means you can keep your job search confidential, protecting yourself from office politics or rumors if current coworkers or managers see you preparing for interviews in person. Technological advances have made virtual interviewing easy with reliable video conferencing tools, allowing smooth communication with interviewers regardless of location. For companies, this means access to a wider talent pool without geographical constraints. While virtual interviews have many benefits, they also require candidates to ensure a quiet, well-lit space with minimal distractions, good internet connection, and basic technical know-how. Practicing common interview questions on camera can help improve your presentation and confidence. Overall, whether virtual or in-person, the best interview is one where you can showcase your skills and personality comfortably and authentically. Virtual interviews provide a flexible, low-stress option favored by many, especially in today’s digital age.
