Last week while driving home from my brother and sister-in-law’s temple sealing, something hit me.

I felt so full of joy… and at the same time, I just wanted to share it with someone who truly understood.

I wanted to talk it out.

Feel seen.

Feel heard.

Then I realized I was going home by myself.

I’ve had moments like this throughout my healing journey, but this one felt different. Usually I’d break down and cry. This time, my eyes watered… but my spirit didn’t collapse.

Not because I’m numb.

Not because I’m heartless.

But because I’m learning how to sit with my feelings without letting them swallow me.

I choose to stay hopeful.

I choose to keep a better outlook on life.

I choose to show up as the real me, not a version I have to fake.

So if you’re having quiet moments like this too…

You’re going to be okay.

Small setbacks don’t cancel big comebacks.

And when yours happens, it’s going to be worth it.

You’re not alone. 🤍

... Read moreDuring my own healing journey, I've found that the moments of quiet reflection often bring the deepest insights and growth. Like the author, there were times when feelings of joy or sorrow felt so intense I wished to share them with someone who truly understands. What helped me was learning the art of sitting with my feelings instead of avoiding or suppressing them. This practice allowed me to process emotions in a healthier way, preventing them from overpowering my spirit. One technique that made a significant difference for me was mindful breathing combined with journaling. When emotions felt overwhelming, taking a few moments to focus on my breath helped ground me in the present moment. Writing down what I was feeling without judgment provided clarity and a safe space to express thoughts I couldn’t easily share out loud. I also realized the importance of hope as a conscious choice. Each day, I reminded myself to adopt a positive outlook—not by denying difficulties but by focusing on possibilities and growth. This hopeful mindset became a source of inner strength, especially during experiences of loneliness or setback. The author’s experience of feeling seen and heard resonates deeply because healing often feels isolating. Finding supportive communities or even sharing with close friends makes a big difference. It’s vital to acknowledge that setbacks are part of the process and do not define our worth or future. Remember, showing up as your authentic self free from societal or personal expectations is liberating. When we embrace who we truly are, including our vulnerabilities, we create space for genuine connection and healing. This journey isn’t linear, and that’s okay—progress sometimes comes in small, quiet steps. If you are on a similar path, know that you are not alone. Trusting the process and keeping faith in your own resilience will help you face challenges with courage. Healing is deeply personal, but sharing stories like these can remind us all of the universal experience of growth, hope, and transformation.
