Instructions
1. Form the patties
• Season the ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
• Divide into 4 equal patties and gently flatten.
2. Brown the patties
• Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
• Cook patties for about 3–4 minutes per side, until browned.
• Remove patties from skillet and set aside.
3. Cook the onions
• In the same skillet, add chopped onions.
• Cook until soft and lightly browned (about 3–5 minutes).
4. Make the gravy
• Sprinkle flour over the onions and stir for 1 minute.
• Slowly pour in beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps.
• Add Worcestershire sauce and stir until gravy thickens.
5. Simmer
• Return hamburger steaks to the skillet.
• Spoon gravy over the patties, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer 15–20 minutes.
6. Serve hot
• Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
