NEWBORN MUST HAVES

spoiler alert: 🚨

its nothing. you don’t NEED anything outside of basic necessities. you don’t NEED the $600 carseat and the $200 owlet sock. you dont NEED a mirror or camera in the car to watch the baby because they shouldn’t have anything with them that could pose a risk. no food 🙅🏻‍♀️ no toys 🙅🏻‍♀️

you don’t need $40 bamboo footie pjs. anything weather appropriate is fine. they grow so fast youre literally wasting money spending $40 per outfit anyway.

as for diapers.. you dont need the most expensive “toxin free” one. don’t feel obligated to blow your budget per month on diapers. show me a solid example of someone getting cancer or life long illness because of the diaper brand they wore for like 3 years.. just pick what works for you and baby!

and sure obviously there’s exceptions to some of these, but if your baby is healthy, and thriving, its really not important to have these things. your anxiety is the only thing driving you to make these purchases.

... Read moreWhen preparing for a newborn, it's common for new parents to feel overwhelmed by the vast array of products marketed as 'must-haves.' However, the truth is that many of these items are not necessary. For example, a basic car seat, some clothing appropriate for the weather, and diapers that fit your budget are typically all you need. The overwhelming pressure to buy expensive baby gear can lead to unnecessary spending and anxiety. In fact, many of the high-priced items available today, like special baby monitors or toxic-free diapers, are marketed to create fear rather than meet genuine needs. It’s essential to focus on what truly matters: keeping your baby safe and healthy. The first few months can be simplified by concentrating on basic necessities and avoiding the temptation to purchase every new gadget on the market. Instead of stressing over accessories, focus on bonding with your newborn and enjoying this precious time. Embrace the idea that less is more, allowing for a nurturing environment without the distraction of excessive purchases. Additionally, online communities and forums can be immensely helpful for new parents looking for advice. Engaging with other parents can provide insights into what worked for them, helping you make informed choices. Remember that every baby is different, and what works for one may not suit another. The most significant factor is to prioritize your comfort and peace of mind over the latest trends. Choose products that align with your lifestyle and budget, ensuring that you and your baby thrive in the early stages of life.
