📘Remarkably Bright Creatures - 13 days (started in april)

i do understand why its a loved book, but i think its overhyped. its NOT a mystery. well, like it is?? but the only mystery is for the characters. you figure it out within .5 seconds if you use critical thinking skills. its a cute story, a happy ending, but overall its boring, slow. and there’s not enough octopus.

it took me 2 weeks to finish this book simply because i was bored and felt like i was reading just to read. i shouldve dnf’d.

other than the fact it was boring it was written well, the dialogue is also pretty good. its a good escape but in my opinion it shouldnt have a mystery tag.

the beginning of this book is honestly way better than the end, after about 60% i struggled to finish it. i guess its just kind of predictable? its just like yay cool youre together.. can it be over now???

nate is an a+ book boyfriend, and the spice is written amazingly, tho i didnt feel its as spicy as booktok made it out to be. and the fact its written from both male and female pov WELL!!!! ugh. hot af.

📗How to Seal Your Own Fate - 12 days

while this is a SOLID book, and it’s made me decide to buy the series because it is that good. it just does not live up to the first.

as most second books are, it feels like its just a set up for the 3rd book. and while i dont usually leave spoilers. i will be talking about what i *hope* to see in the future books. i would love to see annie & crane’s relationship develop.. hopefully romantically. and hopefully in conjunction with that we will see frances and fords relationship rekindle..

im SOOO glad the next book will be annies fortune. this entire book it was hinted at over and over and im sooo interested in knowing what it is.

i will be waiting for the third book, until then i will be rereading & annotating the first 2 books. i feel like i missed connections between book 1 and book 2 due to not having them next to eachother.

Dark Matter - 6 days

this was an ABSOLUTE mind fuck of a book. i dont even know where to start but OH MY GOD. its a true thriller for sure. constantly on the edge of your seat rooting for the story to go how you want. constantly hoping it becomes happy again, then it just ends.

i wont be forgetting this book for a long time, a fun and fast read.

📺 i want to watch the tv adaptation of this book. so i may update with a review between the two.
