- favorite libraries that (usually) have good amount of stock
- pick at least 1 new library to add to your route
- try to bring books to leave behind

Little Free Libraries (LFL) offer an incredible community resource for sharing books freely, and the recent update to the Little Free Library app has significantly enhanced user experience. One of the most valuable features is the addition of the “needs books” tag, which helps users avoid visiting libraries depleted of books and instead focus on locations actively inviting new donations. To get the most out of your Little Free Library adventures, it’s crucial to utilize the app’s search function effectively. Setting a route by selecting libraries along your path can save time and increase the number of stops you visit. Favoriting libraries with a good history of stocking books ensures better chances of finding new and interesting reads. Community engagement is at the heart of LFL. Bringing books to contribute is not only encouraged but essential, as it keeps the ecosystem vibrant and stocked for others. Rotating books by picking up those that have been sitting on shelves for a long time and moving them to other libraries helps owners maintain variety and freshness in their offerings. When visiting these miniature libraries, keep an open mind about what books to take. Rather than arriving with a fixed list, allow the available selections to guide you. This approach often leads to delightful surprises and discovery of new genres or authors you might not have considered. The OCR results from the images in the article hint at popular titles and authors frequently found in these libraries, such as Mary Kubica’s "Local Woman Missing," George Orwell's "Animal Farm," and familiar children’s books like "The Duckling Gets a Cookie!" These examples illustrate the wide variety and appeal of books contributed by community members. In summary, successful Little Free Library hauls are a mixture of strategic planning, community participation, and openness to serendipitous finds. Using the app's enhanced functions alongside thoughtful book rotation and contribution practices fosters enduring literary sharing and enjoyment for all participants.
