ai ohto cosplay
draft from this summer!!
Hey fellow cosplayers and anime fans! I wanted to share a little more about my Ai Ohto cosplay, which was a project I worked on this summer. Wonder Egg Priority really resonated with me, and Ai's journey is just so powerful. I know the original post was super short, but I wanted to dive deeper into why I chose her and what went into creating this look! There's just something incredibly captivating about Ai Ohto. Her story in Wonder Egg Priority deeply explores themes of loneliness, trauma, and finding strength in vulnerability. For me, cosplaying isn't just about wearing a costume; it's about connecting with a character's essence. Ai, with her unique heterochromia and signature yellow hoodie, stands out, but it's her internal world that truly drew me in. Her struggle with self-worth and perception, almost feeling like there's really no way of winning or being understood, really hit home for me. Creating her look was a fun challenge. The most iconic part is probably her short, blonde bob wig. Getting the style just right, with that slight inward curl, took a bit of patience! I spent a while looking for the perfect shade of blonde that wasn't too yellow or too white. For her outfit, the yellow hoodie is key. I tried to find one that matched the oversized, comfortable feel she has in the anime. Paired with the white skirt and colorful tights, it’s a deceptively simple yet recognizable ensemble. I loved how comfortable it was to wear, especially during those warmer summer days when I was putting this 'draft' together. Makeup for Ai is quite subtle but important. Focus on making the eyes pop, especially to highlight her heterochromia (one blue, one yellow/green eye). I used colored contacts to achieve this, which always adds a special touch to cosplay. Keeping the rest of the makeup natural really helps the eyes become the focal point, just like in the anime. Small details like her 'egg' pendant or the way her socks are worn can also elevate the whole look. One thing I learned while working on this Ai Ohto cosplay is the importance of patience and paying attention to details, even for what seems like a simple character. Sometimes the 'draft' stage is the most interesting, as you experiment with different elements to see what works best. If you're thinking of cosplaying Ai, my biggest tip is to focus on capturing her gentle but resilient spirit. It’s not just about the clothes, but about embodying the character. It's truly rewarding to bring a character like Ai, who faces so many internal battles, to life. It makes you feel a part of their world, and perhaps, helps you reflect on your own journey too. Overall, this Ai Ohto cosplay was a labor of love this summer. I hope this gives you a better insight into the process and why I adore this character so much.
