Kiwi & Starfruit Scent Routine🥝⭐️

Hey guys, I feel like it’s been a while since I posted! My latest scent routine is so fresh and fruity and perfect for summer!! To start I USUALLY use a body scrub, however I have a chronic illness called Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome or POTS for short and key symptoms are dizziness, nausea, vomiting and fainting and unfortunately I was having an episode of it earlier today and wanted to cut my routine down as short as possible. Although I didn’t end up using a body scrub, if I had used one, I would’ve used the VS PINK Honey Kiwi scrub and I decided to include it in the pictures. Then for body wash I used the Thailand Sweet Kiwi & Starfruit one from Bath and Body Works. I like it because it’s sweet and fruity while also smelling fresh at the same time. Normally I’d use a body oil next but I actually can’t find my kiwi body oil! It’s one of the body oils I made myself and I planned to make another batch of it but forgot and then it wasn’t ready to go by bath time :/. Next I used the matching Thailand Sweet Kiwi & Starfruit body lotion. I got the body wash and body mist last summer but they didn’t have a body lotion of it available until this summer! I read online somewhere that something got messed up with the batches of it last year so I guess that’s what happened lol. I followed up with the matching body mist as well. For perfume, I was in a rush and grabbed the one perfume I know for sure has a kiwi note; my Dolce Gabbana L’Imperatrice EDT. I got it when I was 17 for Christmas and I LOVE it. I don’t wear it very often which is stupid because they still make it so it’s not like I can’t get another bottle. And the scent has stayed fresh, it hasn’t expired at all AND it’s one of the few perfumes I have that stays on all day with a couple sprays and it stays on clothes for MONTHS. I could smell it on a coat I wore one winter when I got it out to put on the next winter. Seriously. It’s so good. I also added my NYX Fat Oil Chillz in Kiwi Freezie because why not lol. It feels cooling but also kinda burns my lips lol but I still like it and it smells good. Fun fact about it, on the bottom of the tube the name of it is Kiwi Freezie but on the Ulta site it’s called Kiwi Freeze. I’m calling it Freezie cuz I think that’s cuter lol. That’s all I have for this routine, LMK what you think and what I should do next!

... Read moreYou know, when I first started exploring fruity scents, I was always drawn to the usual suspects like berries or citrus. But then I discovered starfruit, and let me tell you, it's a game-changer! When people ask me, "What does starfruit smell like?" I sometimes struggle to put it into just a few words because it's so unique. For me, the starfruit scent isn't just sweet; it has this incredible watery, slightly green, and subtly tart quality that makes it incredibly refreshing. It’s not as overwhelmingly sweet as a fully ripe mango, nor as sharp as a lemon. Instead, it dances somewhere in between, offering a crisp, clean sweetness with a delicate floral undertone that you might not expect. Imagine the juiciness of a pear combined with a hint of green apple and a touch of something exotic – that’s the closest I can get to describing it. It truly evokes the feeling of a tropical paradise without being heavy or cloying. I've noticed that in many body products, especially ones like the 'Thailand Sweet Kiwi & Starfruit' line from Bath & Body Works, the starfruit note really shines through, giving that fresh, invigorating lift. It pairs beautifully with kiwi, which adds its own tangy, slightly fuzzy sweetness. Together, they create a synergy that’s just perfect for summer or any time you want to feel bright and energized. Beyond just body care, starfruit is becoming more popular in fine fragrances too. Perfumers love it for its ability to add a luminous, sparkling quality to a composition. It often plays well with white florals, other aquatic notes, and even lighter woods to create a sophisticated yet playful aroma. For instance, in a perfume like Dolce & Gabbana's L'Imperatrice, while kiwi might be a prominent note, that underlying fresh, slightly sweet and watery vibe often comes from starfruit or similar 'tropical water' accords, giving it that incredibly long-lasting, clean finish. If you're curious to really get a sense of the 'starfruit smell,' I'd highly recommend seeking out products that highlight it. Start with a body mist or a simple hand cream that features it prominently. Beyond that, don't be afraid to try the actual fruit if you can find it! The aroma of a fresh, perfectly ripe starfruit is an experience in itself, giving you the authentic inspiration behind these wonderful scents. And if you’re into DIY like me, you could even try infusing some oils with starfruit essence (though it’s a bit trickier than kiwi!). It’s all about finding that perfect balance of sweet, fresh, and subtly exotic that makes starfruit so captivating. What’s your take on the starfruit smell? I’d love to know!
