why I'm going back natural

I have been dyeing my hair different colors for the past three or four years, and now I'm going back natural!

I absolutely love dyeing my hair, and it's my favorite style of self-expression. I decided to go back natural for a few reasons.

The main reason is maintainence. Having dyed hair can be high maintainence, especially if it's a bright color. I'm tired of worrying about how many washes until it starts fading, washing with cold water, etc.

The second reason is hair health. I don't constantly dye my hair every few weeks. It's more like months in between, but I still want to give my hair some rest and let it grow out. The ends of my hair that have been bleached multiple times are dry, and I miss my silky smooth hair.

Lastly, it's just time. As I'm nearing the end of my undergrad, I'm looking for a full-time job, and it's hard where I live with colored hair. At least I'll be able to show my future kids how cool I was lol!

... Read moreTransitioning to natural hair can be a significant and empowering journey for many. After years of experimenting with different hair colors, more people are embracing their natural textures. This return to natural hair often stems from a desire to simplify hair care routines, as dyed hair usually requires intensive maintenance, such as regular touch-ups and special treatments to prevent damage. Fading color, dryness, and the constant worry over upkeep can become exhausting, leading to a longing for the days of easier hair management. Additionally, the health of the hair is a critical factor—bleached and dyed hair tends to suffer from brittleness and split ends. By allowing their natural hair to grow out, individuals often notice improvements in texture and shine, restoring vitality to their locks. Lastly, this transition often coincides with changes in lifestyle, such as moving into a professional environment where natural hair may be favored. The desire to showcase one's authentic self, along with practical considerations, drives this popular trend. Ultimately, going back to natural isn't just about hair; it's a celebration of personal identity and individuality.

My hair was burgundy once, and you ain’t lying bout the maintenance!! All that broke off over time as those strands never existed in the first place. Color takes real care. It’s a bigger decision than I was prepared for
