Things I want but haven’t bought bc I feel guilty.
Let me explain lol, since becoming a mom I keep telling myself I’ll get it later bc I genuinely enjoy buying my daughter clothes, new toys, food, snacks, and learning items. Then boom I never end up buying things for myself until months later or not at all. But here is the thread.
As many mothers know, experiencing guilt over personal spending is common, especially when kids come first. This phenomenon, often referred to as "mom guilt," makes it difficult to justify purchasing items for ourselves while we're busy providing for our families. Pictures of potential purchases, like the stylish Carlson suede mules or the sparkling heart halo pendant necklace, might catch our eyes, but still, hesitation prevails. It's crucial to recognize that taking care of ourselves is not selfish but rather essential for recharging our spirits. A balanced approach includes occasional indulgence in the things that bring us joy, whether it’s fashionable footwear or modern home essentials like the latest Oral-B toothbrush. Remind yourself that treating yourself positively impacts your overall well-being and confidence. Engaging in communities that support mothers with shared experiences can also be reassuring. Online platforms or local meetups allow for discussions on managing expectations and guilt. So don't hesitate; sometimes, saying “yes” to ourselves is necessary for happier motherhood.
