Think of it as their personal encyclopedia, detailing everything that makes them unique. I've found that strong lore doesn't just make them interesting on paper; it profoundly enhances digital art character design too! When I know my OC's background, their pose, expression, clothing, and even the smallest details become so much more meaningful. A character who grew up in a harsh, unforgiving environment might have worn, practical clothes and a resilient posture, while a noble from a magical city might have elegant, enchanted attire. This depth makes them feel real and relatable, not just a static image. It influences their color palette, their accessories, and even subtle design cues that hint at their past or personality.
