Hey everyone! Since I just introduced myself, I wanted to dive a little deeper into one of my passions that I briefly mentioned: makeup! As a 21-year-old Latina getting ready to become an elementary educator, life can get pretty hectic. But for me, makeup isn't just about looking good; it's a creative outlet and a way to express myself, even on the busiest days. You might have noticed from my profile picture that I often go for a 'light makeup' look. That's my go-to! I love enhancing my natural features rather than masking them. My everyday routine usually starts with a good moisturizer, followed by a light coverage foundation or a tinted CC cream. For my eyes, I usually stick to a simple winged liner – it's a classic that always makes me feel put-together. Brows are a must for me; a little gel goes a long way! One thing I've been really into lately is exploring different lip products. I mean, who doesn't love a good lipstick or gloss? I'm always on the hunt for that perfect nude or a vibrant red that makes me feel confident, especially when I'm meeting new people or even just grabbing coffee from my barista job. Sometimes, I even practice different 'kissing face' poses in the mirror to see how my new lip combo looks – definitely a fun way to test them out! Finding a long-lasting formula is key because, let's be real, between classes and work, I don't always have time for touch-ups. I've found that using a good lip liner underneath really helps my lipstick stay put throughout my shifts and classes. Being from Georgia, I've seen how beauty trends evolve, but I always come back to what makes me feel comfortable and authentic. It's about confidence, not perfection. As someone who works as a barista, I've learned the importance of products that can withstand a busy, active day. Smudge-proof mascara and a setting spray are my best friends! It's all about finding those holy grail items that perform well without feeling heavy or caked on. My interest in makeup really grew when I started college. It became this little ritual for myself in the mornings, a moment of calm before a busy day of lectures and assignments for my Elementary Education major. It’s also something fun I can share with friends. We often swap recommendations for everything from concealers to the best affordable eyeshadow palettes. Even though my focus is on education, I find so much joy in the creative side of beauty. I'm always learning new techniques from other creators online, and I love trying out new looks on weekends. It's truly a form of self-care for me. Who knows, maybe one day I'll even venture into creating content around my favorite beauty finds or simple makeup tutorials for busy students! Whether I'm jamming out to Bad Bunny or Jay Wheeler, or studying late, a little bit of makeup helps me feel ready for whatever the day throws at me. I'm excited to share more of my personal beauty journey here on Lemon8, maybe even some quick tips for students or future educators on a budget! What are your go-to products?
