Psalm 46:10 ✨
Be Still and Know!
“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Life often feels like a whirlwind of responsibilities, goals, and unrelenting pressure to perform. In the midst of this external chaos, God’s voice gently calls us to be still. But what does it mean to “be still” exactly?
It’s not about doing nothing—it’s about surrendering everything. It’s a reminder that we don’t have to carry the weight of the world on our shoulders. When God says, “know that I am God,” He’s inviting us to trust in His power, His plan, and His timing.
No matter how hard we strive, ultimate success comes from God. He alone has the authority to calm storms, move mountains, and bring peace to our hearts. When we stop striving and let Him take control, we find rest in His sovereignty! ✝️
Prayer “Lord, help me to be still and trust that You are in control. Remind me that Your power is greater than my struggles, and Your plan is greater than my own. May my life reflect Your glory as I rest in You. In Jesus Christ Name I pray, Amen.” - Reign 💕

It's so easy to get caught up in the hustle, isn't it? My mind used to race a million miles an hour, constantly planning, worrying, and feeling the pressure to do more. When I first encountered Psalm 46:10, 'Be still, and know that I am God,' it felt almost impossible. How can you 'be still' when the world demands so much from you? I've learned that true stillness isn't about physical inactivity as much as it is about a posture of the heart. It's about consciously choosing to pause the internal noise and intentionally shift my focus from my endless to-do list to God's presence. For me, this journey began with small steps. I started by dedicating just five minutes each morning to quiet reflection before checking my phone. Sometimes that looked like simply sitting with my coffee, watching the sunrise, and reminding myself that God is in control of this day, not me. This practice has really helped me understand what it means when the Bible talks about finding strength 'in quietness and in trust' (Isaiah 30:15). It's in those moments of intentional surrender that I feel my batteries recharging, not from my own effort, but from His power. It's like letting go of the steering wheel for a moment and trusting that the ultimate Driver has everything under control. One thing that really helps me 'hold my peace' (a concept I love from the KJV!) is to physically engage with my faith. I cherish my Bible – it's not just a book, it's a living word that brings comfort. I remember seeing a beautiful Bible cover with vibrant florals and thinking how much I wanted to personalize my own, just like some people have a beautiful, well-loved copy. Opening my Bible to Psalm 46, seeing those words 'He says, 'Be still, and know that I am God,'' physically on the page, makes it so much more real and grounding. It's a tangible reminder to slow down. To cultivate this 'being still,' I've found a few simple practices helpful: Mindful Breathing: Take a few deep breaths, focusing purely on the inhale and exhale. It brings me back to the present. A Daily 'Stillness Slot': Even if it's just 10 minutes, I block out time in my day specifically for quiet prayer, meditation, or simply being present without distractions. Journaling: Writing down my worries and then writing down promises from God or thoughts about His sovereignty helps me process and release. Nature Walks: Spending time outdoors, observing creation, is a powerful way to remember God's majesty and calm my spirit. These aren't rigid rules, but gentle invitations to embrace a deeper trust. When life feels chaotic, reminding myself of Psalm 46:10 and actively seeking stillness helps me remember that God is God, and He is greater than any struggle. It's a journey, not a destination, but one that consistently brings refreshing peace and a renewed sense of His presence.
