My Normal House - Recently Moved In
Let’s normalize homes being lived in and not always having the most current items on the market. Just recently moved in here, so I’m learning to love and be grateful for what I do have, because it could be so much less. Eventually the home will have the new sofa, the area rugs, the dining room table, the house plants, the window coverings, the decor and more. But right now what this home does have is a place for myself and mine to rest their heads, a safe space to come home to, food in the fridge, a place to lay your head at night (was sleeping on a blow up for a bit) and most importantly a whole lot of love! 💜
When moving into a new house, it's often tempting to focus on acquiring all new furnishings and decor, but there's something profound about appreciating what you already have. A meaningful home goes beyond aesthetics; it embodies comfort, joy, and love. You might notice the floors feeling cold and the need for an entryway rug to help warm things up. Consider investing gradually in pieces that resonate with your style and values. House plants can add life to your space, improving air quality while creating a cozy ambiance. Rugs can soften hard surfaces, making rooms more inviting and comfortable. Additionally, window coverings can offer privacy and enhance the overall look of your rooms. Remember, creating a home is a journey, and it's perfectly fine to be on a path of transition. Take your time to curate your space thoughtfully, balancing practicality with your personal preferences. As you adjust and settle in, let each piece you add reflect your journey and story, ultimately creating a sanctuary that feels uniquely yours.
