I did that!

After starting my college career in 2012 immediately after graduating high school, I graduated with my Bachelor's degree in 2025. I did obtain my associates in 2014 in Early Childhood Education. Yet it took me 11 years to get my bachelor's degree. Between my dad getting cancer in 2014, taking time off to help with my siblings to my dad passing away in 2016. Taking time to grieve and help my mom. To becoming pregnant in 2017. Life kept tossing road block in the way. I am so happy and feel accomplished getting my Bachelor's finally. I have my Bachelor's in psychology with a minor in sociology.

... Read moreBalancing life’s unexpected challenges with personal goals can be incredibly demanding, especially when pursuing higher education over an extended period. This story highlights the importance of resilience and determination. Taking an 11-year path to complete a bachelor's degree while managing family responsibilities such as caring for a sick parent, coping with grief after a parent’s passing, and navigating pregnancy demonstrates remarkable strength and commitment. Many students today face non-traditional education journeys that extend beyond the typical four years due to personal, financial, or family circumstances. This underscores the value of flexible educational plans and support systems that accommodate life’s unpredictabilities. An associate degree in Early Childhood Education obtained earlier during the journey adds to the academic foundation and reflects continuous learning and growth. The final achievement, a Bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in sociology, not only marks academic accomplishment but also opens new career opportunities in understanding human behavior and social dynamics. Sharing such experiences within supportive communities like "#raisingthebar" and "#classof2025" helps normalize diverse educational timelines and encourages others facing hurdles. It reminds us that success is not only measured by speed but by persistence and the courage to overcome adversity. For those navigating similar paths, recognizing the progress made rather than solely focusing on the duration can provide motivation. Education is a lifelong journey shaped by more than just coursework—it’s also about personal growth, healing, and adapting to life’s circumstances while moving forward.

Things I didn’t tell my parents I did traveling 1
There’s so many activities during travel that I hold off telling my parents about until I have already done it 😂 One of those is boarding down an active volcano in Nicaragua! Cerro Negro in Nicaragua is one of the only places in the world you can board down a volcano! This is one of the craziest

If “WTF did I just read?!” was a genre 📚
…it would be my favorite! 😂 these books are unhinged. I won’t read a book that’s stupidly disgusting or gory simply for shock factor, so you won’t see those kinds of books in this genre in making up lmaoooo, but these books are seriously unnerving, disturbing, and downright unhinged. If you love re
