This is my second Christmas in my own home, and this year I’m really redefining my holiday aesthetic ✨
Previously, I filled my space with fun, inexpensive knickknacks that now feel a little tacky…cute in the moment, but not exactly timeless. Now, I’m curating my decorations with intention, leaning into pieces that carry meaning, quality, and nostalgia 🦌🌹
My Dickens Department 56 Christmas village, partially handed down over the years, has become my favorite decoration, each building has its own story and reminds me of my childhood Christmas without looking childish ❄️
I’ve also made small swaps like instead of throwing gingerbread and reindeer sparkly knickknacks on surfaces, I put sophisticated florals (pine, cedar, and cranberry stems) that add a natural, elegant touch throughout the house. I also add the colors of Christmas around without being too literal, like evergreen and red throw pillows and blankets.🎄
Instead of scattering random ornaments and figurines, I’m taking a more thoughtful, layered approach, creating an overall feeling of cozy, balanced, and timeless. It’s a more “grown-up” way of celebrating the season that blends cherished memories with a sense of style ❤️
