My life as a Biker Baddie
Lots of questions I get are about gear. As a beginner, you should always wear gear, but I’m not a beginner anymore and I choose not to wear heavy gear in the summertime. I wear padded Kevlar hoodies and double layer pants or wear leathers if it’s cool enough outside.
How did I choose my bike? (The bike in this slide is my boyfriends this is one I like to ride with him on). I have a 2006 Ducati Monster 620! I actually didn’t choose this bike, I mentioned loving them and I was gifted it! I chose my bikes based on my skill level first, I can ride anything 800cc and below, so I do ride a bigger bike sometimes (he has an 800cc version of the bike I have). After I decide what size bike I want, I look at comfort, style and ride height so I’m sure I’ll feel confident on it and still be within my comfort zone while riding in style!
How do I choose where to ride? I’ve gotten accustomed to my small towns roads and find places I like to ride, I love going through curvy roads (go slow at first if you’re a beginner), I love riding through backroads to practice my wheelies, and I’m always on highway rides with my friends.
Where did I get my helmet?! I bought mine at Cycle Gear (there may be a motorcycle shop near you that has helmets!) I chose this one because I love the style, it fits me well and I love the arrow on the back (the plastic piece that helps with aerodynamics so you’re not shifting your head around when riding). I bought the BILT brand, the model is the Charger in a size small. The visor I bought in store but more styles can be found on the website!
