Many parents find themselves caught between supporting their kids at home and trusting educators to do their job effectively. It’s a delicate balance of patience, communication, and sometimes accepting that handing control back to the teachers might be the best way forward. In situations where homeschooling or remote learning drags on indefinitely, both parents and children can feel burnt out. I’ve noticed that setting clear boundaries and expectations helps alleviate tension. Sometimes, the best decision is to trust teachers to handle classroom responsibilities while parents focus on providing emotional support at home. Importantly, this approach requires open communication with teachers to ensure kids' learning and social needs are met. While frustrations can mount, recognizing when to step back can ultimately benefit everyone involved – kids, parents, and educators alike. It’s about finding the right balance for your family’s wellbeing during ongoing educational challenges.
