37 Weeks 🐻🤰🏾🤎

It’s currently 2:12am on August 8th, 2026. I’m 37 weeks pregnant and have a lot on my mind I’d like to share.

I’m a FTM nearing the end of my 3rd trimester. I’ve lived, laughed, loved, but I’m currently crying. The first and second trimester were wonderful- it felt like a breeze - I felt great about my mindset and body. The 3rd trimester feels like the total opposite…

Even with an amazing husband by my side, this pregnancy journey has felt lonely. I feel like my mind is always racing… I continuously question if I’m doing too little, asking too much, and if I am capable of being a mom. I’m anxious and hormonal.

I’ve been reminded on the daily that God is in control. He’s been faithful and gracious up to this point, and He won’t stop here. Even in my darkest moments I know he loves me. I know his plans for this baby are good.

Yes, pregnancy is beautiful. Yes, I’m grateful for having a healthy body that is able to carry this baby up full term. And yes, I love my son even though I haven’t met him yet.

With that being said - I’m not in love with being pregnant. It’s been challenging in all areas of my life, and I’m so ready to be done. It’s okay and quite normal to dislike the journey, but feel gratitude and love for the outcome. It’s okay to grieve a what could’ve been or what should’ve been. Pregnancy isn’t the same the same for everyone and shouldn’t be treated as such.

🤎 JESUS 🤎 LOVES 🤎 YOU

Many first-time moms, like the author, experience a rollercoaster of feelings—ranging from excitement to anxiety and even moments of loneliness. It’s common to question whether you’re doing enough or worry about your preparedness for motherhood. These feelings are natural and reflect the immense transition happening both physically and mentally. I personally found comfort in the reminder that it’s okay to feel overwhelmed and to take breaks without guilt. Much like the story of Martha in Luke 10:38-42, pregnancy is not about constant activity or productivity but about being present with yourself and your baby. The pressure to balance daily responsibilities while nurturing your growing family can be exhausting, but embracing rest and self-compassion is vital. Faith and spirituality often play an important role in providing strength during this phase. Holding onto the belief that you’re supported—whether through a higher power, loved ones, or your own inner resilience—can help ease fears and bring peace. The acknowledgment that struggles do not diminish your love for your baby is empowering. Furthermore, every pregnancy journey is different. Some mothers experience a breeze during the first two trimesters, only to face new challenges in the third. Recognizing that disliking aspects of pregnancy doesn’t mean you are ungrateful or unloving can be liberating. It’s a complex journey filled with physical discomforts and emotional fluctuations, but it ultimately leads to a wonderful outcome. For those feeling isolated, seeking connection through support groups, online communities, or trusted friends can alleviate loneliness. Sharing experiences honestly helps normalize the struggles and builds a network of encouragement. In sum, embracing both the challenges and blessings at 37 weeks pregnant is essential. Your worth is not measured by productivity or perfection but by the love and care you hold for yourself and your baby, even in the hardest moments.
