Let’s say I have a thing for piercings lol

Don’t let this discourage you from getting that piercing you want!!!

Everyone is different.

All piercings hurt even if it’s just a slight pinch.

Most people say their septum didn’t hurt but honestly I think it depends on anatomy even if the sweet spot is pierced.

There is scar tissue whenever a piercing closed, that’s why it can hurt wayyyy more than the first time around.

I suggest to clean your piercing with saline wound wash.

... Read moreHaving gone through multiple piercings, I’ve noticed that pain and healing vary widely depending on the piercing type and your anatomy. For example, I rated my right nostril piercing pain a moderate 6/10, but the second piercing on the same nostril was excruciating—like 1000/10—though it healed very well. Belly piercings, especially for me, have been tough due to body shape and rejection issues, emphasizing the importance of selecting appropriate jewelry. Cartilage piercings can hurt more initially and during healing; my third ear hole, a cartilage spot, was painful across multiple attempts but eventually healed well despite difficulty sleeping on that side. Stacked lobe piercings hurt moderately but healed fine, though some closed up after removal. Medusa piercings proved very painful and had a rough healing period, including swelling and crust formation even after a year. Septum piercings were surprisingly less painful than clamps used during the procedure, and healing went smoothly apart from managing dry blood crusts. These experiences highlight the need to individualize care and expectations for each piercing. Cleaning with saline wound wash consistently helped reduce irritation and promote healing. Overall, whether you’re considering unique ear piercings or classic lobes, understanding your own anatomy and the specific challenges of each piercing type can help you prepare mentally and physically for the journey.
