Gel Polish Testers!
Finally did swatches for my gel polishes.
If you're anything like me, your gel polish collection can quickly become a beautiful, but overwhelming, array of bottles. Before I started using clear plastic nail swatch sticks, I’d often pick up a bottle, try to guess the true color, and sometimes even apply it only to realize it wasn't quite what I envisioned. It was so frustrating! That's why these little clear plastic nail swatch sticks have been an absolute game-changer for my at-home manicures. They're not just for professionals! Having a visual representation of each gel polish color on these handy sticks makes choosing my next shade so much easier and more enjoyable. Creating your own set of gel polish swatches is super simple. First, make sure your clear plastic nail swatch sticks are clean and dust-free. I usually give mine a quick wipe with alcohol. Then, just like you would with your nails, apply your gel polish to the tip of each stick. I recommend doing two thin coats for true color accuracy, curing each coat under your LED/UV lamp just as you would on your nails. Don't forget a top coat for that extra shine and durability! I also love adding a numerical label or writing the polish name directly onto the stick with a fine-tipped permanent marker. This way, I can easily match the swatch back to the bottle. Once all your swatches are done and cured, the fun part is organizing them! I personally love keeping mine on rings, fanned out as the OCR mentioned, so I can flip through them like a little color catalog. You can group them by color family – all your reds together, then blues, greens, nudes, etc. Or, if you have a lot from specific brands, you might group them by brand. This makes it incredibly easy to compare shades side-by-side. I even have a separate ring for glitters and special effect polishes! Beyond just picking a color, these nail color swatch sticks are fantastic for planning nail art, seeing how different top coats (matte vs. glossy) look, or even deciding on ombre combinations. It saves so much time and prevents 'mani regret.' Plus, it's a great way to take stock of your collection and identify any gaps or duplicates. Trust me, once you start swatching, you'll wonder how you ever managed without them! For storage, I keep my swatch rings in a small drawer or a clear container, so they're always visible and accessible. Some people even create elaborate displays, but for me, simplicity and functionality are key. The sheer joy of having my entire gel polish collection neatly organized and perfectly displayed on these clear plastic nail swatch sticks is immense. It transforms what could be a messy, confusing process into a streamlined and creative one. If you haven't started swatching your gel polishes yet, I highly recommend grabbing some clear plastic nail swatch sticks and giving it a try – you won't regret it!
