... Read moreHey Ghoulfriends! You all saw my quick pics, but I wanted to dive deeper into my recent Monster High G3 Frankie Stein cosplay! It was such a blast bringing this electrifying ghoul to life, and I learned so much along the way. First off, choosing G3 Frankie was a no-brainer for me. I adore her vibrant light pink hair and the slightly different, more modern take on her iconic look compared to G1. G3 Frankie truly embraces her individuality, and I wanted to capture that spirit. The biggest challenge was getting that perfect light green skin makeup – it's a very specific shade! I found that mixing a pale green cream makeup with a bit of white foundation gave me the ideal base. Blending is absolutely key, especially around the hairline, ears, and neck, to avoid any harsh lines. And a good setting powder is a lifesaver to keep it from rubbing off throughout the day or night! Next up, the stitches! These are Frankie's signature, and I experimented with a few methods to get them just right. For my stitch-like facial makeup, I used a fine-tipped liquid eyeliner in black for the main lines and a white face paint for the little 'crosses' that mimic sutures. It really sells the stitched-together vibe and adds so much character. And those heterochromia eyes? I managed to source one striking blue and one vibrant green contact lens, which truly completed the G3 aesthetic. If contacts aren't your thing, you could always use a bit of theatrical makeup or even creative eyeliner to create the illusion on one eye. The hair was another fun part! My wig started as a light pink base, and I carefully added streaks of black and white striped hair extensions to mimic her iconic two-tone look. Styling it to get that volume and playful bounce took some patience and a lot of hairspray, but the effort was totally worth it for the final effect. For the outfit, I focused on her classic preppy-punk style. Finding the right plaid dress was a bit of a hunt, but I managed to thrift a perfect base and then customized it. Adding a unique polka dot tie and some lightning bolt accessories really helped to solidify the G3 Frankie vibe. Little details like subtle scars, maybe some silver bolts around the neck, truly elevate the whole ensemble. I even tried to replicate her unique boots, but honestly, comfort won for the con floor – a good pair of black combat boots worked perfectly! Overall, this G3 Frankie cosplay was a true labor of love. She's such an empowering and quirky character, and embodying her was a fantastic experience. If you're thinking of cosplaying G3 Frankie, my biggest tip is to pay attention to the small details and have fun with the makeup and accessories – it makes all the difference!
