SONIC DRAWING!!!
This is genuinely my first time ever drawing him but it ain’t BAD, but if I draw him more perhaps get better. Not sure if you guys want more of him, so let me know!
Also I kinda forgot about this app for a sec so I kinda forgot to post this at the same time as my other socials (literally don’t get any interactions on here)#this is one of my drawings #sonic #sonicthehedgehog #sonicfanart #digitalart
Hey everyone! So, as I mentioned, this is genuinely my first attempt at drawing Sonic, and I'm actually pretty stoked with how it turned out, especially for a beginner! It's been a fun learning curve, and I wanted to share a bit more about my process and maybe some tips for anyone else looking to dive into drawing our favorite blue blur. One of the queries I've seen is about drawing 'Movie Sonic.' He has such a unique look compared to his game counterparts, right? When I was working on my digital drawing of him giving that peace sign, I really focused on his slightly more realistic, yet still cartoonish, features – those large eyes and the way his blue fur is styled. Capturing his slightly different proportions and that confident, smiling expression from the movie, while still making him recognizable, was a cool challenge. My main tip for drawing Movie Sonic is to pay attention to the subtle details in his face and the texture his quills seem to have. Then there's 'classic Sonic,' which a lot of you asked about too, like 'how to draw classic Sonic' or 'sonic 1 drawing.' Classic Sonic has that iconic, simpler design, and he’s often depicted in 2D art. I absolutely love his retro charm! For classic Sonic, mastering those simple shapes is key. Focus on his rounder body, smaller eyes (compared to Movie Sonic), and his spiky quills that aren't quite as fluffy. Getting his determined or sometimes cheeky expressions just right, like the thumbs-up pose you see in some of my references, is what makes him so endearing. He’s often quite 'cute' in his classic form, making him a joy to sketch. Speaking of expressions, whether it's Movie Sonic or classic Sonic, getting their personality across is everything. Sonic is all about speed and attitude! So, when you're drawing him, think about the emotion you want to convey. Is he cocky? Determined? Playful, like when he's flashing a peace sign? A slight tilt of the head, a furrowed brow, or a wide, confident grin can make all the difference. And for those who caught the meme – 'I MAY BE UGLY BUT I I USED TO BE UGLIER' – that’s just too good, isn't it? It perfectly captures that self-deprecating humor and evolution we see in character designs. It’s a fun nod to how characters change over time, and a reminder that even the most iconic looks go through iterations. Since this was a digital drawing, I used my tablet and a painting app to create it. Digital art gives you so much freedom to experiment, undo mistakes, and play with colors and backgrounds. If you’re just starting, don’t be afraid to experiment with different brushes and layers. I'm really hoping to improve my Sonic art, so if you have any tips, or if there's a specific pose or version of Sonic you'd like me to try next, let me know in the comments! It’s awesome to be part of the Sonic fanart community, and I'm excited to keep sharing my creative journey with you all.
