✨Homeschool Trial✨
As this summer has unfolded, not only have we been continuing sports but doing a trial run of "homeschool" things has been so fulfilling.
I myself have had a great time and my kiddos are too. Learning the things that actually interest them and doing hands on projects has been great.
This next week is exciting to see coming!

From my own homeschool trial experience, integrating outdoor activities with academic lessons has made a huge difference in my children’s enthusiasm for learning. For instance, combining nature studies with active games like capture the flag and wiffle ball keeps their energy high and curiosity alive. We’ve also been exploring geography through hands-on models of the Earth’s hemispheres and continents, which helps my kids visualize concepts much better than textbooks alone. One of the key elements that made our homeschool days so fulfilling is focusing on what truly interests my kids. Whether it’s diving into the world of Harry Potter to encourage reading or practicing manuscript writing with personalized guides, tailoring the curriculum has helped my children stay engaged and motivated. It’s a reminder that homeschooling doesn’t have to be rigid; it can be dynamic and responsive to each child’s unique learning style. Balancing sports and studies during the summer also brought a nice rhythm to our days. With regular outdoor play, my kids get the exercise they need while still making progress academically. This trial period has shown me the benefits of hands-on projects and flexible scheduling—tools I plan to use moving forward. I’d recommend other parents trying homeschooling to embrace creativity and let their kids lead with their interests. Real-world applications, time outside, and project-based learning can transform homeschooling from a daunting task to an enjoyable journey for the whole family.
