My Leo Leo! 🫶🏽

Meet my dog🐶:Leo! He’s not just a pet; he’s a furry member of our family with a personality as big as his heart. I often get asked what Leo is like, and honestly, describing him is one of my favorite things to do because he's truly one of a kind. First off, Leo is incredibly playful. His favorite thing in the world is a squeaky ball, and he’ll bring it to you with the most earnest expression, begging for a game of fetch. It doesn't matter if we've just woken up or if it's late in the evening, his energy for play is boundless. He has this adorable habit of doing little 'play bows' when he wants attention, wiggling his whole body to tell you it's time for some fun. He even has a special 'play bark' that's distinct from his alert bark, letting you know it's time for action. Beyond the play, Leo is super affectionate. He’s a big snuggler and loves to be close. Whether I'm on the couch watching TV or working at my desk, he’ll find a way to wedge himself beside me, often resting his head on my lap. He’s not shy about showing his love with gentle licks and a happy tail wag that can clear a coffee table! It’s these quiet moments of connection that really make our bond special. He often follows me from room to room, just wanting to be in the same space. He’s also quite intelligent and curious. Leo loves to explore new smells on our walks and sometimes even tries to 'herd' us in a particular direction if he's found something interesting. He picks up tricks surprisingly fast, especially if treats are involved, which I think speaks volumes about his smarts. We've been working on 'stay' and 'leave it,' and he's getting really good at it – though a rogue squirrel can sometimes test his self-control! His curiosity means he's always sniffing out new things in the yard, always on a little adventure. One trait that always makes me smile is his gentle nature. Despite his playful energy, he’s incredibly gentle with children and smaller animals. When my nieces and nephews visit, he's patient and calm, letting them pet him without a fuss. He seems to understand he needs to be softer around them, which is just another reason why he’s so special to us. It’s truly heartwarming to see him interact so kindly. Leo also has a bit of a stubborn streak, especially when it comes to bedtime or leaving the dog park. He knows exactly what he wants, and sometimes it takes a bit of convincing (or a tasty treat) to get him to cooperate. But even his stubbornness is endearing, showing just how much character he has. Sometimes, when he doesn't want to come inside, he’ll plop down and just look at you with those big, innocent eyes, hoping you’ll give in.
