Citrus perfume combos for the summer 🍋✨

Having a good perfume combo means starting out with a good base! Having a strong base that your perfume can stick to you and then you build it off of that.

My base today is OSEAs and Hempz citrus lotion!!

Those two together have a super bright strong opening! I added sweet rose by sand and fog and Marc Jacob’s daisy to give it some floral notes 🌺 🌸.

Florals can be overpowering, you just have to know how to wear them!

From my experience, using moisturizers or lotions with citrus notes like OSEAs and Hempz is a game changer. They not only hydrate your skin but also enhance the perfume’s longevity and brightness. This is especially important because citrus notes can evaporate quickly on their own. To complement these fresh citrus bases, adding floral fragrances like Sweet Rose by Sand & Fog or Marc Jacobs Daisy can introduce a soft and elegant dimension to your scent. However, florals can sometimes overpower the citrus if used excessively. I’ve found that layering sparingly and testing the blend on your skin before committing really helps keep the balance harmonious and refreshing rather than cloying. Another tip is to mentally map out your scent routine: apply your citrus lotion first, then lightly spritz the floral perfumes in areas where your skin is warm, such as wrists or behind the ears. This technique activates the fragrance and prolongs the scent’s presence. The phrase from the image, 'YOU’RE OBSESSED WITH CITRUSY SUMMER SCENTS,' resonates with me because citrus smells are quintessential summer scents—bright, uplifting, and energizing. Whether you’re heading to an outdoor brunch or a casual day out, combining these citrus and floral notes creates a personalized aroma that's sure to garner compliments and boost your confidence. Lastly, don’t be afraid to experiment with different citrus-based lotions or mix-and-match floral scents to create your own signature summer fragrance combo. The key is layering smartly and focusing on a base that holds the perfume, ensuring those juicy, sunny notes last all day long.
