For that special person ✨

Marriage… it’s beautiful but also hard!

I CHOOSE to wake up each day and love you.

Now I’m not saying it’s hard to love because I love him endlessly but on the hard days… I choose to love him even more.

Learning about a godly marriage can definitely be an eye opener. It all seems so obvious but to practice and do in your marriage is a whole other kind of selflessness.

Remember to love your spouse even on the hard days… especially on the hard days.

The Bible says to not withhold love.

Give your spouse the agape love that our father gives us everyday even when we don’t always live out his way 🤍

Blessed to be married to this wonderful man of mine 🌿🤍

>>something I’ve recently done is I re-read

1 Corinthians 13: 4-8. Part of our vows! I took time to dissect it and find the true meaning and remind myself the promise I made to my husband. It really was a heart warming experience!

God is good, always 🤍🌱

... Read moreIt's true what they say: marriage is a beautiful journey, but it's also undeniably tough at times. We all enter into it with hearts full of love and dreams, but life inevitably throws curveballs. There are days when stress from work, family responsibilities, or even just daily annoyances can create tension between you and your spouse. On these 'hard days,' it's easy to let frustration or exhaustion take over. But I've learned that these are precisely the moments when our commitment is truly tested, and when the phrase 'I love you even on our hard days' becomes more than just words – it becomes a conscious, daily decision. For me, navigating these challenges has often come back to embracing the principles of a godly marriage, especially the concept of agape love. It’s not just about romantic feelings, which can ebb and flow, but about a selfless, unconditional love that chooses to act for the good of the other, regardless of circumstances. When I find myself struggling, I often reflect on what that really means. It means choosing patience when I want to snap, choosing kindness when I feel misunderstood, and choosing empathy to try and see things from my partner's perspective, even when it feels difficult. One practice that has profoundly helped me is revisiting our vows and, specifically, studying verses like 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. This passage isn't just for wedding ceremonies; it's a profound blueprint for how to love in practice. It reminds me that love 'is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.' When I dissect each line, I realize how much intentional effort it takes to live this out. For example, 'love is not self-seeking' has taught me to set aside my own immediate desires sometimes to meet a need of my husband's, or simply to listen without forming my rebuttal. On those challenging days, practical application makes all the difference. It might mean initiating a conversation even when I'd rather retreat, or offering a small gesture of affection like making his favorite tea, even if we've had a disagreement. Sometimes, it’s simply being present and offering a comforting hug, acknowledging that we're a team facing life together. These small acts, rooted in agape love, help bridge gaps and remind us of the deep connection we share. It’s also crucial to remember that choosing 'I love you even on our hard days' doesn't mean ignoring problems or always being a doormat. It means approaching difficulties with a heart committed to the relationship, seeking understanding and resolution rather than blame. It’s about fighting for the marriage, not in the marriage. This journey requires continuous effort, self-reflection, and a willingness to grow both individually and as a couple. It’s a powerful path, and truly, the rewards of an enduring, committed love are immeasurable. Every hard day overcome together strengthens the bond, proving that love truly does conquer all.
