Healing parts of me, he didn’t even break 🥹
As parents, we focus so much on what we are teaching our children. How to navigate the world, how to communicate, how to grow.
But when I look at my son, I realize he isn't just here to learn from me. He’s here to guide my soul back to a place of peace ✨️
Parenting, especially when nurturing a child on the spectrum, has taught me invaluable lessons about love and communication that go far beyond words. One thing I’ve come to deeply appreciate is how much 93% of human communication is non-verbal, which means our children, even when silent in certain expressions, are constantly showing their love and connection through actions, gestures, and presence. In my experience, recognizing and celebrating neurodiversity in my son has been transformative not only for his growth but for my own healing journey. It’s incredible how a child’s unique way of interacting with the world can remind a parent to slow down, embrace patience, and find peace amidst the chaos. Instead of focusing solely on what I can teach him, I’ve learned to listen and observe how he communicates his love and trust in his own pure, unspoken language. Soul-led motherhood means trusting your intuition, acknowledging emotions without judgment, and understanding that healing can be a two-way street between parent and child. It’s about allowing yourself to be guided back to a place of inner calm by embracing imperfections and celebrating every small milestone. For those navigating similar paths, I encourage immersing yourself in communities and conversations that affirm neurodiversity and healing childhood experiences. Sharing stories and support helps alleviate isolation and reminds us all of the powerful bonds that grow in love beyond spoken words. Remember, healing parts of ourselves often happens when we accept our children’s unique selves, seeing them as teachers in our own life journey.
