First trimester

I have been trying to rough it out in my first trimester but it’s so hard. I have eaten and thrown up everything. I don’t want to cook I can barely stand up. I just want to get through it and have my energy back. Laundry is piling up dishes are becoming paper plates and cups and the kiddos are eating more snacks then ever.

Any tips to boost energy levels!?

I am hydrating and eating small meals

I have zofran for nausea it’s not working.

I have drank seltzer water, sprite ginger ale and water. Nothing helps.

Please let me know if it’s anything I can do. I want to go to work and I want my house functional again.

... Read moreThe first trimester of pregnancy is often the most challenging period due to hormonal changes that cause symptoms like nausea, vomiting, fatigue, and low energy levels. Managing these symptoms effectively can make a significant difference in daily comfort and functionality. One of the key ways to combat fatigue during the first trimester is to prioritize rest whenever possible. Since energy levels fluctuate, listening to your body and taking short naps can help replenish your strength. In addition, maintaining hydration is crucial; drinking water, herbal teas, or electrolyte beverages in small, frequent sips prevents dehydration which can worsen tiredness. Small, frequent meals rich in protein, complex carbohydrates, and healthy fats help stabilize blood sugar levels and reduce nausea. Incorporate bland but nutritious foods like crackers, bananas, rice, and applesauce as they tend to be easier on the stomach. Some find that ginger products, such as ginger tea or ginger candies, can also ease nausea. If conventional anti-nausea medications like Zofran seem ineffective, it is important to discuss alternatives with your healthcare provider. Certain supplements, acupressure wristbands, or prescription medications may offer relief based on individual health needs. Lifestyle adaptations can also support recovery: simplifying household chores, using disposable plates and cups to reduce kitchen clean-up, and asking for help with childcare and tasks whenever possible. Joining support groups or online communities for expecting mothers can provide emotional comfort and practical advice. Remember, the first trimester is generally temporary, and symptoms improve as pregnancy progresses. Taking proactive steps to manage symptoms can enhance your wellbeing and help you regain your energy and confidence before returning to work and daily routines.
