... Read moreIf you're craving authentic soul food in San Diego, Chef Budda Blasian Soul Food truly hits all the right notes. I've visited multiple times and each meal delivers the perfect balance of seasoning and comfort that soul food lovers crave. The catfish nuggets are always crispy on the outside yet tender inside, making every bite satisfying. The wings are generously seasoned and fried to perfection—spicy and flavorful without being overwhelming. One of my favorite combos includes the jumbo shrimp paired with classic sides like collard greens and mac & cheese. Speaking of sides, the variety available is impressive: from creamy potato salad and rice & gravy to Cajun fries and candied yams, they complement the main dishes beautifully. What also stands out is their catering service, which is perfect for family gatherings or events where you want to share authentic soul food flavors. Their combo meals offer a great value with generous portions—something I appreciate when feeding a crowd. Drinks like melon refresher and classic Kool-Aid add to the overall nostalgic dining experience. For anyone exploring San Diego’s food scene, especially if you love comfort food that packs flavor and soul, this spot is a must-try. Each dish tells a story of tradition and passion for rich Southern cuisine, making it an unforgettable dining experience.
