Healthy Tuna salad sandwhich
This is a healthier version of tuna salad that still tastes really good to me
Ingredients
Canned tuna
Cottage cheese or Greek yogurt
Mayo (optional)
Cucumber
Hot sauce (optional
Salt
Pepper
In a bowl mix cottage cheese, seasonings, and drained canned tuna. I just eye ball my measurements 😬 most of the time I add a tablespoon of mayo to still give it a bit of that taste.
I’ve Heard Greek yogurt is a good replacement, I’ve never tried it but if you don’t like cottage cheese… lmk how it is.
Slice cucumbers and line both pieces of bread sprinkle with salt and pepper if you like
Throw on the tuna salad mix and whatever toppings; I love hot sauce on mine. Boom healthwhich 🫳🎤
Tuna salad sandwiches are a popular choice for those seeking a nutritious meal option. Canned tuna is an excellent source of protein and essential nutrients, while cottage cheese or Greek yogurt provides creaminess with fewer calories. Incorporating cucumbers adds freshness and crunch, making every bite delightful. For a little kick, consider adding hot sauce. This recipe can easily be modified to suit your taste preferences, and using Greek yogurt instead of mayo can significantly reduce the fat content while still offering a rich flavor. If you're preparing this for meal prep, remember to keep the salad separate from the bread until serving to maintain its freshness. Try serving the tuna salad on whole grain bread for added fiber and nutrients. This healthy tuna salad sandwich is not only simple to prepare but also perfect for anyone looking to maintain a balanced diet without sacrificing taste. Enjoy this light yet satisfying meal that can be ready in minutes!
