New Mochi Donut Place

Last week, my cousin, sister, and I tried this new opened spot called Mochi Mama for the 1st time! It’s awesome that they opened this in my area so that way I don’t have to drive hours from where I live to get mochi doughnuts. This is my 3rd time trying mochi doughnuts in general because the 1st time I tried them in Philly in another place called, Mochinut.

So of course we gave it a shot! The doughnuts are still so addictive and bomb although they have a bit of a difference in texture compared to Mochinut. Still they make me want to eat them all in one day! Earlier today, I went for the 2nd time to try their Poké Bowl, because I’m a sushi fanatic!

Overall, It’s all worth trying especially for my hometown of Harrisburg, PA!

... Read moreWalking into Mochi Mama in Harrisburg, the vibrant 'Welcome to the Sweet Life' neon sign immediately set a fun, inviting tone. As someone who's always on the hunt for unique treats, I was thrilled to find this spot right in my hometown. My first visit was all about the mochi donuts, and let me tell you, they lived up to the hype! I started with a pink box filled with a selection of their most popular flavors. The Glazed mochi donut was a classic, perfectly chewy with just the right amount of sweetness. But the Churro mochi donut? That was a game-changer – a delightful crunch from the cinnamon sugar coating combined with the signature bouncy texture of the mochi. I also tried the Lychee, which offered a subtle, fruity twist that was surprisingly refreshing. On a subsequent visit, I dove into the Cookies N' Cream and Taro flavors. The Cookies N' Cream had a satisfying crunch and creamy sweetness, while the Taro was subtly sweet and wonderfully aromatic, a true delight for taro lovers. The unique chewiness of these donuts sets them apart from traditional varieties; they're lighter, less greasy, and incredibly satisfying without being overly heavy. It's easy to see why they're so addictive, and honestly, I could eat a whole box myself! Beyond the irresistible donuts, Mochi Mama surprised me with their Poké Bowls. As a sushi fanatic, I couldn't resist trying one, and I'm so glad I did! My bowl was a colorful masterpiece, packed with fresh diced fish, perfectly cooked rice, crisp green onions, and a variety of crispy toppings that added fantastic texture. It felt like a genuinely healthy and flavorful meal, making Mochi Mama a fantastic spot for both a sweet treat and a savory lunch. It's a brilliant combination that caters to different cravings, and I've already recommended it to all my friends looking for great food in Harrisburg. To complete the experience, I paired my donuts with a purple Taro Milk Tea, topped with a rich Cheese Foam. The Taro Milk Tea was creamy and comforting, and the cheese foam added a luxurious, slightly salty tang that complemented the sweetness of the tea perfectly. It's a must-try beverage if you're visiting. If you're searching for 'mochi mama hours' or 'mochi mama menu,' I always recommend checking their official website or social media for the most up-to-date information, but based on my visits, they offer a great selection throughout the day. So, whether you're a local in Harrisburg or just passing through at 4800 Jonestown Rd, Mochi Mama is definitely worth a visit for a unique and delicious experience that goes beyond just a regular donut shop.
