Keep Plowing

Hey everyone! I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the power of perseverance, especially when it comes to our spiritual lives. It’s easy to get discouraged when you don’t see immediate results, right? But the wisdom from scripture about sowing and reaping has been a huge comfort and challenge for me. Just like the saying, 'swords were beaten into plowshares,' it’s a reminder that sometimes our toughest battles can be transformed into tools for growth and preparation. We're made from dirt, literally and spiritually, and it's humbling to think that God plants His seed within us. Just like a farmer prepares the ground, we too must 'keep plowing' in our daily walk, cultivating our hearts and minds. This isn't always glamorous work. It often involves consistent effort, patience, and unwavering faith, even when the path feels like a 'hard pathway' with no clear end in sight. But oh, the promise! As it says, 'YOU WILL ALWAYS harvest WHAT YOU PLANT.' This isn’t just about physical crops; it's about the eternal impact of our actions, prayers, and love. The scriptures remind us to 'ASK THE LORD OF THE HARVEST, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.' This isn't just a call for missionaries, but for all of us to be active participants in God's plan. It’s about being diligent, being a 'PRUDENT SON,' someone who understands the season of labor and doesn't 'sleeps during HARVEST' like a 'DISGRACEFUL SON.' It means being attentive to the opportunities God places before us to plant seeds of kindness, hope, and truth. I’ve personally found so much encouragement in verses like 2 Corinthians 9:10-11, which speaks of God supplying 'SEED TO THE SOWER & BREAD FOR FOOD' and how He 'WILL ALSO SUPPLY & INCREASE YOUR STORE OF SEED & WILL ENLARGE THE HARVEST OF OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.' It’s a beautiful cycle of divine provision and growth. We put in the effort, we plant the seeds, and God faithfully multiplies them, not just for our own benefit but to 'overflow with abundance' for others. Think about the joy described in Psalm 126:6: 'Hewhogoesoutweeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.' It paints such a vivid picture of the reward that awaits after seasons of tears and toil. So, what does 'Keep Plowing' mean for us today? It means faithfully engaging in our spiritual disciplines, serving others, sharing our faith, and trusting God with the process. It means remembering that our 'labor 6 days and rest on the 7th' is a pattern for our lives, leading us toward an 'eternal Shabbat from all of our labors.' It's a journey of transformation, from sowing tiny seeds to witnessing a 'bountiful harvest' that crowns our years with blessings. Let’s keep tending our fields, knowing that the Lord of the Harvest is watching over every seed we plant in faith, preparing us for an incredible season of reaping.
