Life with my sweet Mia, my 2-year-old Chow Chow, is never dull! She's truly the most fluffy and reddish-brown companion, and every day is an adventure. You know how some dogs are just bundles of energy? That's Mia, especially when she's chasing her tail in the backyard – it’s a sight to behold! And her love for hunting imaginary squirrels or even just interesting smells in the grass is absolutely adorable. One thing about Mia that always makes me laugh (and sometimes sigh!) is her infamous dislike for baths. Seriously, it's a full-on theatrical production every time! Trying to get her into the tub is a challenge, but her luscious coat is worth the effort... eventually. She really is a house guardian at heart; she takes her job of watching over our home very seriously, often letting out a characteristic Chow Chow 'woof' at anything suspicious (a leaf blowing by, a distant siren, you name it!). It gives me such peace of mind knowing she's always on alert, even if her main defense strategy is looking incredibly regal and slightly unimpressed. Training Mia has been a journey. We've mastered 'sit' and 'lay down,' and we're making slow but steady progress on 'stay.' Chow Chows can be quite independent, so patience is definitely key! What motivates her most, you ask? Definitely cheese or chicken! Those are her absolute favorite foods. A little piece of cheese can make her do just about anything. It’s funny how a dog so dignified can instantly transform into a treat-motivated goofball. Beyond her hobbies and tricks, Mia truly enjoys her long naps. After a busy morning of guarding and playing, she loves to sprawl out in her favorite sunny spot. It’s a perfect balance to her energetic moments. For anyone considering a Chow Chow, be prepared for a dog with a big personality, a gorgeous coat that needs regular grooming (despite their bath-time protests!), and an incredible loyalty to their family. They might seem aloof to strangers, but they form the deepest bonds with their humans. Mia isn't just a pet; she's a cherished member of our family, bringing so much joy, fluffy cuddles, and quirky moments into our lives every single day. If you're a dog parent, you know exactly what I mean!

I have a Chow Chow too!🥰
